What is the difference between temperature- and climate-controlled storage?
A controlled-climate environment avoids abrupt changes in temperature and relative humidity, which can cause materials to expend and contract rapidly, leading to deterioration over time.
What temperature and humidity levels are items stored at?
What is the storage facility like?
The objects stored are in sealed vaults which hold all your items together. In the case that items are too large for the vault, we carefully wrap and store it on racking or pallets in our warehouses.
We monitor our facilities by cameras 24/7 with only authorized personnel having access. In the case that power goes out, our backup generators kick on to maintain the climate.
Climate-controlled storage also protects against light damage and exposure to dust, moisture, or pests of any kind. When to Choose Climate-Controlled Storage:
- What is the item made of?
Take the material into consideration. Wood, for example, is very prone to damage from temperature and humidity. Specialty items like art and wine can be damaged without proper maintenance of it's climate.
- What is the value of the items?
Whether the value is monetary or sentimental, some items are costly to replace, or not replaceable at all. Consider these items for climate-controlled storage.
- Where is the facility located?
