Add in the difficult market and busy summer months and the whole process can seem overwhelming. We have some tips to help you keep cool during your summer move.
1. Contact Movers Early
Moving companies book up fast during these months. Don’t wait until the last minute to get quotes so you can book the company and services you need. Be on alert for potential scammers who use this time of year to take advantage of unsuspecting families. Here are some tips on what to look out for to avoid scammers.
2. Get Started Early in the Day
Temperatures generally start out cooler in the morning. Get started early focus on loading the bulk of heavy and difficult items and avoid doing it during the hottest part of the day.
3. Take breaks & Stay Hydrated
All the work that goes into moving can take a lot of you. As temperatures rise, take extra breaks and keep water and cool towels on hand. Having a plan and preparing for the day can help prevent overexertion. Stay safe and know the signs of heat stroke and heat exhaustion.
4. Make Sure Your Air Conditioner is Working ProperlyMove in day is definitely not the time when you want to find out something isn’t working properly. Make sure electric is set up in your new home and A/C is functioning.
5. Don’t Go It Alone
