September 11-17 marks this year’s Truck Driver Appreciation Week.
“National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is an important time for America to pay respect and thank all the professional truck drivers for their hard work and commitment in undertaking one of our economy's most demanding and important jobs. These 3.6 million professional men and women not only deliver our goods safely, securely, and on time, but they also keep our highways safe.” (American Trucking Association, trucking.org)
Our business, among many others in the country, rely heavily on the services of truck drivers for transportation needs. The pandemic, supply chain issues, and labor shortages have added major stress to the trucking and transportation industry and its drivers.
Many of the services we provide for our customers requires the use of trucks, and more importantly, a team member driving it. Our drivers work to help our customers in a variety of ways. Some of our teams are dedicated to the moving side of our business, helping families ease the transition to their new home. Others keep local, driving in your neighborhood to deliver orders. And some travel across the country, moving artwork, machinery, or anything in between.
Later this month, we’ll be highlighting our truck drivers in the first tri-county Truck Rodeo to take place in Saratoga on September 24th. Drivers from areas businesses will maneuver their vehicles through a planned course and the driver with the best scores will be crowned winner. We’ll have members of the SWW Workforce Development Board there to help aspiring drivers learn about the career opportunities that come with a Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Additional trucks from various companies will be on site so all ages can learn about drivers and their trucks!
This week provides a reminder to us all the importance of truck drivers for businesses and the economy as a whole. Join us in honoring our nation’s essential truck drivers this week and remember the importance of their role all year round.
If you are looking for a new career opportunity, we have openings for drivers to join our team (CDL and non-CDL), as well other positions. Email jobs@arnoff.com or visit arnoff.com/careers.
